There are three main types of venues. Venues with in-house catering, venues with a locked contract with an external caterer, and venues that have a list of preferred suppliers/caterers.
Venues with in-house catering
Most function venues will have their own kitchen and catering supplies. Even if you have your heart set on a bespoke menu – it doesn't hurt to ask. It may cost you more – but you may be able to create a tailored menu.
Venues with a locked contract with an external caterer
It is common for venues to be exclusively serviced by one caterer. Heritage landmarks and government-owned properties are an example of this arrangement. Once you enquire with the venue, the enquiry will be directed to both venue management and their catering partner. You will be able to communicate directly with both parties. Often the event management will also be organised by the catering company.
Venues with bring your own catering
Some venues, particularly hire-only spaces, will allow you to bring in your own catering. Check out our preferred suppliers page for Venuemob-endorsed caterers and services.
In the event the venue has no in-house, preferred or contracted caterer, a member of our venues booking team may be able to suggest a caterer. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org.
